CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has accepted the social and political role of 'People's War'.
Addressing a program held at the party's central office in Paris Danda to mark the 'People's War Day' on Sunday, he revealed that he spoke with Oli about 'People's War' on Monday.
The two chairmen on Monday had agreed to move forward by combining People's Multiparty Democracy and Maoism, and synthesise the ideological line during the general convention for unification. "What UML Chairman Oli has accepted even during the meeting yesterday is the People's War had and has a historic role in social and political awakening of Nepal," Dahal stated.
The Maoists had started the People's War on Falgun 1, that falls on Febraury 13 this year, in 1996, and celebrates the day as 'People's War Day.'
Dahal also added that he is discussing party unification with Oli and the discussion may conclude today itself. "I have said I will feel happiness if party unification were to be concluded on the People's War Day today. We are making efforts. May it conclude today itself."
