The Sher Bahadur Deuba Cabinet will convene for probably the last time Wednesday afternoon.
"The Election Commission (EC) may submit final results of the House of Representatives (HoR) election today. This may, therefore, be the last Cabinet meeting," Law Minister Yagya Bahadur Thapa told Setopati.
Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Kamal Thapa has already bidden farewell to his ministry on Wednesday.
PM Deuba is scheduled to address the nation after the Cabinet meeting highlighting his achievements once the EC submits the final HoR results to the President.
Deuba was elected PM for the fourth time on June 6, 2017. The Deuba government conducted the local elections in Province 2 ensuring participation of all Madhes-based parties, and the elections for HoR, provincial assemblies and National Assembly.
The Deuba government, that has been rendered caretaker after dissolution of the last parliament, has been facing heavy criticisms in recent days for taking decisions as if it were a normal government.
