Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has inducted two ministers from CPN-UML in his Cabinet on Thursday.

Lal Babu Pandit has been appointed Population and Environment minister and Tham Maya Thapa as Women’s Children and Social Welfare minister. Pandit was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Morang-6 while Thapa was elected through the proportional representation (PR) system.

The duo were also sworn in as ministers by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari after she administered oath of office and secrecy to  PM Oli.

CPN (Maoist Center) did not send its ministers to the government Thursday citing discussions on unification with UML have not yet been concluded
