Attorney general Kharel resigns from UML central committee

Newly appointed attorney general Agni Kharel has tendered his resignation from the post of central committee member of CPN-UML on Wednesday. Kharel has tendered his resignation by meeting with the party chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. "I have stepped down from the post keeping in mind the position of attorney general," Kharel told Setopati, "I found it apt to resign from the party membership so as to work there in a free and fair manner." PM Oli recommended senior advocate Kharel to the post of attorney general on Tuesday. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, following the recommendations, appointed him to the post on Wednesday. Former Law Minister was member of both the Constitutional Assemblies (CA).
