The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday has announced to hold the election for the post of President on March 13.
The EC has fixed the voting program starting from 10 am to 3 pm.
The members of federal parliament and the provincial assemblies will cast their votes.
The EC has also made public the schedule of the election that will last for nine days. The lists of candidates will be published on March 5 whereas nominations will be filed on March 7.
Spokesperson at EC Nawaraj Dhakal said that the voting will be held only in Kathmandu. As per the EC decision, members of all seven provinces will have to come to Kathmandu. The EC has further said that the counting of votes will start immediately after the voting concludes at 4 pm.
There will be re-polling between the top two candidates if no candidate manages to garner 51 percent of votes in the first round of election.
