Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal (FSF-N) Upendra Yadav on Monday has agreed to join the KP Sharma Oli-led government. Yadav agreed to join the government after a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Oli and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the morning.
A Baluwatar source said that Yadav exited from the meeting hall saying he has to hold consultations with the party leaders on joining the government.
The CPN-UML, Maoist Center and FSF-N have agreed on the necessary amendment of Constitution through internal discussion.
The FSF-N has demanded two ministries for joining the government. A Maoist Center leader, however, said that the party has not yet finalized on the ministerial portfolios. It is almost agreed that Yadav himself would join the government as foreign affairs minister.
With the decision of FSF-N, the sharing of ministries between UML and Maoist Center is set to be changed. The number of ministries will be finalized after finalizing ministerial portfolios to be received by FSF-N.
A Baluwatar source has also said the Cabinet meeting is unlikely today due to the latest political developments. "It is likely that two ministers each from UML and Maoist Center will be sworn in today.
Ishwor Pokharel and Yuba Raj Khatiwada from UML, and Ram Bahadur Thapa and Matrika Yadav from Maoist Center are likely to be sworn in today.
