Members of House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly will be sworn in on Sunday.
The 275 HoR members will be sworn in at 4 pm and 56 National Assembly members an hour later, according to the Parliament Secretariat. The oldest member of respective Houses will administer oath of office and secrecy to the members.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will administer oath of office and secrecy to RJP lawmaker Mahindra Raya Yadav, the oldest HoR member according to citizenship certificate, and Tara Devi Bhatta, the oldest National Assembly member, at 1 pm.
The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order to not administer oath of office and secrecy to the three National Assembly members recommended by KP Sharma Oli government.
The lawmakers are being sworn in almost three months after the HoR election was completed on December 7.
The joint meeting of the two Houses will be convened on Monday. President Bhandari is scheduled to address the joint meeting.
