The Supreme Court (SC) has registered a writ petition submitted two weeks ago demanding revocation of the President's order to appoint KP Sharma Oli as prime minister (PM).
The SC had refused to register the writ at first stating that a petition against appointment of PM cannot be registered. But a single bench of Justice Dambar Bahadur Shahi ordered registration of the petition after petitioner Yagya Mani Neupane moved the SC against the administration's refusal to register the petition.
The petition demanding that Oli be stopped from working as PM has been registered on Wednesday after Shahi's order.
Advocate Neupane has argued that appointment of Oli as PM before being sworn in as lawmaker is constitutional.
The petitioner has demanded that Deuba's caretaker government should be reinstated and that government should announce House session.
