Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has called chief ministers (CM) of all seven provinces for discussion.
PM Oli will hold discussion with the seven CMs and provincial chief secretaries at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at 11 Wednesday morning. Lack of staffers and revocation of regional offices are among the agendas for discussion.
CM of Province 1 Sher Dhan Rai said there are basically four kinds of problems facing the provincial governments.
"The first thing is there is no legislation. The federal parliament should formulate many of the laws. The second problem is due to continuation of the regional structures by the last government," Rai confided with Setopati. "Third is lack of staffers and we also do not have budget."
PM Oli has summoned the CMs to Kathmandu also to discuss about the roles of the central and provincial governments. "He has invited us for discussing what the central and provincial governments must do to resolve the problems in provinces," CM of Province 3 Dor Mani Paudel said.
