The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has accused the government of exaggeration of facts in the white paper on the state of economy.
NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma addressing a press conference organized at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Sunday has stated that the government tried to deceive by saying the state coffers are almost empty instead of providing hope and confidence to the people.
"It seems the government wanted the people to believe that it started the journey toward prosperity from zero by claiming that the state coffers were empty," Sharma said. "The history was neglected and they seemed to say that history starts from today."
Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada issuing a white paper on the economy on March 30 had stated that the state coffers are almost empty.
