The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday has promoted Joint Secretary Dilli Raj Pandey to the post of secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.
"The Cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister's Office in Baluwatar has decided to transfer secretary at Prime Minister's Office Rajiv Gautam to the Law Ministry," informed Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Gokul Baskota.
According to Baskota, the government has also decided to urge businessmen and entrepreneurs to take responsibility of education of at least one child from marginalized community.
Meanwhile, Baskota did not disclose anything about the Cabinet's decision on appointment of IGP.
"The decision on appointment of IGP will be taken in suitable time," he said.
IGP of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal's term is ending on Thursday due to age limit.
As many as 12 DIGs are in the race for the post of IGP. The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday evening asked the Nepal Police Headquarters to furnish the files of those 12 DIGs.
Among these 12, Metropolitan Traffic Police Division Chief Sarbendra Khanal is ranked first, Ramesh Kharel of Security Service Directorate second, chief at the Central Investigation Bureau Pushkar Karki third and Dhiru Basnet of Narcotics Control Bureau is fourth.
The Nepal Police Directorate has a provision of appointing suitable candidate among 12 DIGs to the post of IGP.
