The newly-appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyawali has assumed office today.
The Cabinet meeting Tuesday night appointed Gyawali who was sacked from the post by the then Pushpa Kamal Dahal government almost two years ago.
Gyawali received appointment letter on Wednesday, according to sources close to him.
The Dahal government had sacked Gyawali in February 2017 stating that he could not furnish satisfactory explanations in two attempts. The government had then appointed Govinda Raj Pokharel who had preceded Gyawali. Pokharel resigned to contest the general elections last year.
Former secretary Yuba Raj Bhusal was appointed CEO after that. But the post was vacant after the KP Sharma Oli government took a decision to annul all the appointments made by the preceding Sher Bahadur Deuba government after the election code of conduct came into effect.
