Normal life in Rolpa, the district of Province 6, remained affected Wednesday due to strike called by Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand.
Vehicles en route to both long and short routes remained off the road while markets and teaching institutions were closed. The party stated that the strike was announced in protest against the arrest of party district secretary Santosh Subedi.
According to the party, Subedi was arrested by police nine days ago from a cultural program at Saunepani of Dhawang organized by a local cultural group.
He, the son of the then Maoist Center's leader Jhakku Subedi, had been also arrested during the House of Representatives election held last year.
