Lawmaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has urged the government to be serious toward the report submitted by the probe committee formed to investigate into the rape and murder Nirmala Panta.
Nirmala Panta, 13, of Kanchanpur district was raped and killed around two months ago.
During special hour in Wednesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Sapkota said, "Different incidents related to violence against women including rape and acid attack should be stopped while the price hike on the eve of festivals needs to be contained."
Demanding the release of the report of the probe committee submitted to the government, Pushpa Bhusal said that the government should be serious to maintain peace and security as well as to stop VAW.
Similarly, Laxman Lal Karna demanded to address the problem of employees working in community schools while Sarita Giri asked the government to initiate the process to amend the constitution to make the constitution acceptable to all, urging the government to be sensitive towards incidents related to VAW.
