Veteran democratic leader and former minister Chakra Prasad Bastola, who has long been bed-ridden after brain hemorrhage, passed away.
Leader Bastola breathed his last at his own residence in Khumaltar, Lalitpur at 9:20 pm, informed Radha Krishna Kafle, Bastola's personal secretary.
He has been suffering from brain hemorrhage since 29 December 2012. He was the former central member of the Nepali Congress and ex-Ambassador to India. Bastola was a prominent democratic leader who had played crucial role in the people's movement-1990 and 2006.
