Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has claimed that no decision has been taken on the under-fire ambassador to Australia Lucky Sherpa.
“We are conducting internal investigation. We are still in course of study and no decision has been taken on Sherpa,” Minister Gyawali said during a program held at the ministry on Tuesday.
Sherpa was summoned to Kathmandu for explanation after inviting controversy in Australia. The government had summoned her to Kathmandu stating that the controversy can even affect bilateral relation with Australia.
She reached the ministry immediately after arriving in Kathmandu on Sunday and recorded her statement.
The probe committee formed by the ministry to investigate allegations of connivance in human trafficking against her, meanwhile, has already submitted its report to Minister Gyawali.
Sherpa came under controversy after her driver Wadchu Sherpa accused that she took her to Australia taking money from him. Wadchu, who is no longer her driver, has been claiming that she asked for additional amount to take his wife to Australia.
The Nepali Embassy in Australia has been claiming that Wadchu fled after stealing valuable jewelries and has been making false allegations to get permanent residency in Australia.
