Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal Thursday said the government was at work on making land-related laws and policies so as to end land-related problems.
"Formulation of land-related laws and policies will complete within this year, and result-oriented land-related work will commence," said the minister at a dialogue on 'The management of unsystematic human settlement' in Bardibas Municipality-3 where the minister received a reminder about problems stemming from unmanaged settlements at Bardibas and Bhangaha of Mahottari and Mithila Municipality of Dhanusa.
She also stressed the need for ending unmanaged settlements and the dual ownership of land, and managing Guthi lands.
The program was also attended by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel and member of the House of Representatives Juli Mahaseth.
