CPN leader Bhim Rawal has slammed the political report jointly presented by Chairman duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Speaking during the ongoing standing committee meeting of the party on Tuesday, Rawal expressed displeasure at the report not conceding the mistakes committed by the party and government, and not mentioning the state and achievements of party unification, works done for implementation of constitution, and works done to resolve the issues raised at the time of Indian blockade.
He also asked the chairman duo about how the secretariat, that was not even discussed before unification, was formed. "The first draft of the statute did not mention secretariat. The secretariat was not authorized to take political and organizational decisions in the second," he has pointed in his written comment. "Standing committee members at the time of drafting the statute had suggested that the secretariat should not formulate policies and the standing committee meeting should be held every month."
He also asked why standing committee was not convened for five months after saying it will be convened in three months. He has deprecated the argument made in the chairmen's report that one cannot say the secretariat should not be allowed to take decisions merely because its size is small.
He has also taken exception to the secretariat being mentioned as the core of leadership in English in the report prepared in Nepali language and asked how it was formed. "If the secretariat is the core of leadership, should it be selected by the full committee or general convention or as per the wishes of any individual?" he asked.
He also pointed at the report not clarifying who and with what objective made foreign relations of Nepal imbalanced after mentioning that it was imbalanced before the government was formed. "It should be clarified how it has been made balanced now."
He has also criticized the government for not being able to deploy the staffers at the local and provincial levels despite having two-third majority.
He also slammed the government pointing that syndicate in transportation has not ended, India has not provided additional aviation entry points, and India has refused to accept the report prepared by the Nepal-India Eminent Persons' Group (EPG). "Why and for what reasons have that not been criticized?" he questioned.
He has also protested inauguration of the Asia Pacific Summit, organized by the Unification Church, by Prime Minister Oli. "Nowhere else is the state involved in a program organized by any private religious organization," Rawal stated mentioning the history and works of the Unification Church.
"Receiving the certificate for good governance from the 'True Mother' and the cash prize of US$ 100,000 is against the secular constitution, principles of CPN, and diplomatic dignity and the prestige of the government accountable toward the people," Rawal has mentioned in writing.
He also raised questions at the deputy PM being sent to the airport to welcome the invitees for the summit, PM staying at the hotel for three days, and misuse of the government logo.
He has also supported the issues including process and procedure, and collective leadership among others raised by leader Bam Dev Gautam in the latter's different opinion.
