The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has directed the local levels to address the complaints of earthquake survivors.
The NRA issued the directives to the local levels as some local levels were creating problems to the quake survivors raising the issue of the design of houses (that were under construction) while reaching there to receive the installment of grants.
The NRA asked this after the meeting with representatives of local levels and bodies concerned called by NRA to accelerate post-quake reconstruction projects.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NRA Yubraj Bhusal directed the local levels to sort out the problems facing by quake survivors over the issue of house design.
The meeting has also decided to organize training for the carpenters and workers as large numbers of such manpower were needed to expedite the reconstruction tasks.
The NRA has directed the Central Project Implementation Unit (CPIU) under the Urban Development Ministry for the arrangement of deputation of at least one technician in each ward of local levels of 14 worst quake-hit districts.
According to NRA, it would take further initiative to deploy a social mobilizer in order to expedite reconstruction task. The CPIU under the Urban Development Ministry would impart training to engineers, sub-engineers, and overseers in order to give necessary advice for the construction of quake-resistant houses.
The meeting also drew a conclusion that the Local Development Ministry would organize interaction comprising ward chairperson, ward secretary and technicians after deploying technicians in all wards of local levels.
NRA Spokesperson Yamlal Bhusal said that the NRA has set a target to complete the construction of private housing to quake survivors in the current fiscal year.
CEO Bhusal, NRA Officials, Chief of CPIU under Urban Development Ministry, representative of Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, among others were present on the occasion.
