List of public holidays to be revised
The cabinet meeting today handed the responsibility of revising the list of national public holidays and festival holidays, and submitting a report on this within a month to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The government is to revise the list of public holidays in the wake of the demand for giving a public holiday on the birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah.
Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narsingh KC said despite the proposal registered in the Cabinet meetings many times to declare a public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti (birth anniversary) and the National Unity Day, the issue could not be decided.
He also referred to the practice that national unifiers will be honored across the world no matter these figures might be autocratic rulers.
Meanwhile, the meeting has decided to appoint employees under temporary quota to speed up the reconstruction of schools ravaged by the earthquake of April 25, 2015.
Minister Karki informed that the meeting decided to send the bill to amend the Civil Service Act with a proposal to retirement age of the civil servants to the Public Service Commission for its views. RSS
NRA website gives wrong information about rebuilt houses
The number of houses rebuilt after the earthquake uploaded in the official website of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) does not match the same data of the Ministry of Urban Development. The NRA, the government body formed to carry out reconstruction efforts after the Gorkha earthquake, is found giving wrong information about the number of houses rebuilt after the disaster.
EC to launch Local level Election Monitoring Directives-2017
The Election Commission (EC) is going to launch the Local level Election Monitoring Directives-2017 to streamline the monitoring of the local level election scheduled to be held May 14 this year. The Directives is currently being drafted and the Commission will launch it at the earliest, according to the Commission's Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma.

UML late leader Devi's body kept at party office
The body of CPN-UML leader and lawmaker Dulari Devi has been kept at the party central office, Dhumrabarahi in the capital. She was injured in a road accident in Sitamadi of India on March 16 and was undergoing treatment in the Lalitpur-based B&B hospital. She breathed her last on Thursday night in course of treatment.

I have seen my sisters and friends isolated and treated in discriminatory manner during their first menstruation cycle. They were not allowed to look at the sun, to touch water source, flower, fruits, any male family member, nor even hear their voice. The activist may claim the situation has changed and I do agree but still during every month my loved ones turns into untouchables beings.
