List of public holidays to be revised
The cabinet meeting today handed the responsibility of revising the list of national public holidays and festival holidays, and submitting a report on this within a month to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The government is to revise the list of public holidays in the wake of the demand for giving a public holiday on the birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah.
Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narsingh KC said despite the proposal registered in the Cabinet meetings many times to declare a public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti (birth anniversary) and the National Unity Day, the issue could not be decided.
He also referred to the practice that national unifiers will be honored across the world no matter these figures might be autocratic rulers.
Meanwhile, the meeting has decided to appoint employees under temporary quota to speed up the reconstruction of schools ravaged by the earthquake of April 25, 2015.
Minister Karki informed that the meeting decided to send the bill to amend the Civil Service Act with a proposal to retirement age of the civil servants to the Public Service Commission for its views. RSS

Forest Research Policy-2073 unveiled
Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari unveiled the Forest Research Policy-2073 at the inaugural session of a three-day seminar on forest conservation that began in Kathmandu on Sunday. Launching the Policy at the program organized by the Department of Forest, Bhandari assured that all the subordinate bodies under the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation would be made resourceful for the effective forest management efforts.

Ideologies on T-shirts
In my opinion, Buddha was a great revolutionary, as was Einstein. Anything that challenges the present way of thinking about life is a revolution. In student politics, when it comes to revolution, the only blood I want to imagine being used is that flows into your brain and comes out energized with new ideas with every heartbeat.
Rules are made with keeping greater public safety in mind and mandatory helmet rule is an example. But it is equally true that majority of riders do not care to strap helmets as necessary.
Menstrual taboo outdated
I have seen my sisters and friends isolated and treated in discriminatory manner during their first menstruation cycle. They were not allowed to look at the sun, to touch water source, flower, fruits, any male family member, nor even hear their voice. The activist may claim the situation has changed and I do agree but still during every month my loved ones turns into untouchables beings.
Physicians are humans too!
To err is human. People make mistakes. Clinicians are no exception. But as soon as a patient or a person enters a doctor’s room, he or she forgets that the doctor too is a human being and expects too much from him or her.
