Minister Karki underscores need for making NT service qualitative

Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki stressed the need for making the service of Nepal Telecom qualitative and competitive.

Addressing a program organized here on Sunday at the premises of the Telecom to announce the merger of the National Employees Organization of Nepal and the National Employees Organization of Nepal Telecom, he also emphasized the need for investing in development by increasing capacity of the Telecom.

"Nepal Telecom is a big institution that Nepal is proud of. There is a need to utilize frozen budget by further strengthening the Telecom and opening up its sister organisations. It does not have any competitor at present. It should make all bases to compete with other institutions of this kind (if any to open up)," he said.

Managing Director of the Nepal Telecom Kaminiraj Bhandari said that the Telecom has been active to enhance the quality of the Telecom.

Nepal National Employees Organisation (United) has been formed after the merger between employees' organisations close to CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Revolutionary Maoist). RSS
