EC unveils new voters' list reaching 18 yr by Feb 9

The government on February 20 had announced that it will hold local level election on May 14. But most of us may not know how to check who can cast vote in the upcoming election. One may be also be enthusiastic to know whether one's name is in the voters’ list. To check if your name is included in the voters’ list, do the following:

How to check?

  1. Select your district from the table below.
  2. Select municipality or rural municipality and metropolitan city where you stay.
  3. Select ward number.
  4. Select polling center.
  5. Click SUBMIT button.

A name list will appear as per your details. Select the first letter of your name from the top of the name list for convenience.

  1.  Click Voter’s Details from the table by submitting your date of birth and citizenship number to get the details including your photo. You will be directed to click on any picture of animals after which you will get details.

The Election Commission is distributing voter identity cards with special features before holding the local election. “We have prepared voter identity cards with four special features,” Secretary of the commission Gopinath Mainali told Setopati, “We will start printing cards only after finalizing on the name of voters.” The identity cards will have details including voter’s name, address, citizenship number, electoral identity card number and QR code.
