The ruling parties' meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar Friday has urged the United Democratic Madhesi Front to participate in local poll slated for May 14.

During the meeting of the senior leaders from ruling parties and the Front, ruling party leaders urged the Front to take part in the election assuring it of taking forward the constitution amendment bill from government side.

Following the meeting, CPN (Maoist Center) leader Barsha Man Pun shared that the meeting was positive regarding the Front's participation in the election along with forwarding the amendment bill.

He further said the next meeting of the ruling parties will be held at 3 pm and then the meeting with the Front will be also held at 5 pm today itself.

Pun added that the amendment bill could be revised if the Front assures their participation in the election.

During the meeting, PM Dahal urged the Madhesi Front's leaders come on board and contest in the May 14 election by forging consensus on the constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament.

This is the first meeting of the Front with the government since it made fresh announcement for protest programs against the upcoming election.

The Front's leaders have demanded amendment in the constitution amendment bill, stating that the amendment was more of a pressing concern to them than the local level's election.

One of the major parties of the Front, Rastriya Janata Party's leader Laxman Lal Karna clarified that they would contest in the election if the constitution amendment bill with revision would be endorsed by the parliament.

Present in the meeting were CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson and PM Dahal, CPN (Maoist Center) leader Pun, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, NC Secretary-General Dr Shashank Koirala and leader Prakashman Singh.

Front's leaders Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Ashok Rai, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Mahendra Raya Yadav and Hridayesh Tripathi among others were also present in the meeting. RSS

He knew everything about me including my struggles with my health.
