NC to become number one party: PM Deuba
Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Nepali Congress (NC) would become the number one party in the local level elections.
Speaking at an election gathering held at Bardibas of Mahottari on Wednesday, PM Deuba claimed that the voters in tarai-Madhes would choose NC in the third phase of local level elections being held on September 18.
Stating that India was committed to resolve the problems of inundation and floods in the Tarai, he expressed the confidence that the postal highway would make the tarai prosperous. "The dam on the Sunkoshi River will end the problem of power and water in the region," he said.
Deuba accused UML of trying to divide Nepalis. 'The nationalism propagated by the UML has put the country into a danger.'
NC General Secretary Shasank Koirala, leaders Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Ram Sharan Mahat, Balkrishna Khand and Gagan Thapa appealed to the voters to vote for NC so as to empower the Madhesi people and make the nation prosperous. RSS
