Sanskritik Sansthan, the cultural undertaking of the government, has been vigorously working to promote and preserve the rare dances and music of various indigenous communities in the country.
It has also trained artists who can perform these dances and music when required. The Sansthan has trained artists in the Charya dance, the Arya Tara dance, the Pancha Buddha dance, the Kumari dance, the Bhairab Kali dance and the Bajrayogini dance under the Buddhist tradition.
Similarly it has trained artists and performers in Tamangselo, Sakela, Dhimal, Satar, Dhintamai, Sorathi among 51 various genres of dance, music and folk songs.
Sanskritik Sansthan works include conducting research and studies into and the promotion and protection of the culture, folk drama, dances, musical instruments and music that are on the verge of disappearance as well as to train artists on these aspects of culture.
Sansthan's information officer Pabitra Pangeni said that they have organized a total of 62 cultural programs in various places of the country this year.
