All government health institutions at the Mahashila rural municipality in Parbat can now avail of 24-hour maternity services.
Until last year, such services were available only at Lukhudeurali Primary Health Center of Mahashila Rural Municipality-2. The rural municipality comprises six wards.
Other health facilities have launched the 24-hour ‘birthing center’ from this year, according to rural municipality chief Raju Prasad Poudel.

In the past, the Lukhudeurali Primary Health Center had not technology and human resources required to handle complicated maternity-related cases. The Rural Municipality this year allocated Rs 1.7 million to all health institutions to launch the services
