Dr Govinda KC on Thursday has applied for the second time demanding information about citizenship certificate of Chief Justice (CJ) Gopal Parajuli and its copy from the Kathmandu District Administration Office. He has filed the application as per the right to information (RTI).

Dr KC, advocate Om Prakash Aryal and others have filed the application stating that the citizenship certificate of CJ Parajuli and his date of birth have invited controversy and demanded official information regarding that.

The Kathmandu District Administration Office replying to the first application had stated that it has already sent the record about Parajuli to the Supreme Court (SC) and asked the applicants to get the same from the Apex Court as they are a party to a sub judice case.

The SC has slapped contempt of case against Dr KC after he demanded resignation of CJ Parajuli claiming that the CJ is corrupt and part of mafia. Dr KC and his lawyers had raised questions about citizenship and educational certificates of Parajuli and demanded investigation during the hearing on the case.

The SC has sought both citizenship certificates and educational certificates of Parajuli for investigation. The Kathmandu District Administration Office has said the applicants can get the necessary information on Parajuli from the file it has sent to the SC as they are also a party to the case.

But Dr KC and others have reapplied urging the Kathmandu District Administration Office to provide the information sought without being influenced by anybody.
