Over 1,000 police personnel will be mobilized Tuesday for maintaining law and order on the occasion of Mahashivaratri in Dang.
"As many as 1,025 police personnel will be deployed at various temples in Dang as thousands of Hindu devotees will flock different Shivalayas on the day," said Chief at Dang District Police Office SP Durga Singh.
SP Singh urged one and all not to drink and drive and smoke marijuana and warned police personnel will be deployed at various places. She further said that preparations are on to mobilize around 150 to 200 police personnel at Dharapani Temple in Dang that has the biggest Trishul in the world.
"It is correct to follow the festivals abiding by religious faith, but it is not right to allow consumption of intoxicating liquids including
bhang and smoking pot, among others," SP Singh added. She also warned anyone found charging money from pedestrians by blocking the way using ropes will be arrested.
