The eastern and western parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley received rainfall on Sunday due to the impact of local weather system.
The local weather system has become active following the beginning of spring, the Meteorological Forecast Division informed.
Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said that the weather pattern will return to normalcy after 6 pm today. "But it is likely to receive rainfall and thunder on Monday afternoon," Kandel added.
In most of the cases, Nepal receives rainfall due to the westerly wind and wind from the Bay of Bengal. The local weather system brings hail, rain and thunder especially in the evening before the onset of monsoon after the winter season.
