Over dozen doctors, nurses injured as APF resorts to lathi-charge

Security personnel fires tear gas to disperse the protesters


Doctors and nurses have been injured when Armed Police Force (APF) entered the premises of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla and used batons on them on Thursday.

The APF personnel entered the premises of the hospital stating that they will take Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging fast-unto-death from the past 20 days, at any cost.

A large number of students, doctors and locals protested when the APF personnel entered the hospital premises.

More than a dozen students and doctors sustained injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, the students have padlocked the main gate of the hospital.

The team of security personnel fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesting students, doctors and locals.
