Tension escalates in Jumla as APF resorts to lathi-charge (Photos)

Tension escalated at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla after the armed police force entered the premises and used batons on them on Thursday. The APF personnel entered the premises of the hospital stating that they will take Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging fast-unto-death from the past 20 days, at any cost. More than a dozen students and doctors sustained injuries in the incident. The team of security personnel fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesting students, doctors and locals. A police constable in civil has received bullet injury when the police opened fire during the clash even as the police has denied firing shots inside the hospital.
