China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) has launched a project supporting women's empowerment in Devchuli Municipality of Nawalpur district.
The Safa Sunaulo Nepal (SSN) and local women group Sakriya Sanakisan Sahakari Samuha are partners in the project named Nepalese Women Occupational Support Program. The project with support from the Give2Asia will benefit about 400 farmers directly in the district by improving their living conditions through micro-financing, said a program officer.
As part of the project, the SSN handed over the seed money to the Sahakari Samuha, and the agreement paper was signed among CFPA Nepal office, the SSN and the Sahakari Samuha amid a program in the district.
"Microfinance program is one of the most successful programs run by the CFPA since past over 20 years. We will try to integrate our best experience model into the program design, implementation and management," said Zou Zhiqiang, the country director of the CFPA Nepal while addressing the event.
Likewise, the CFPA has also launched 'Love Bag' program, and under which it distributed more than 8,000 bags and stationery materials to the students of different districts and computers to the people with disabilities from Kathmandu, Dolakha, Lamjung and Pokhara.
