Distribution of final tranche of grant to quake survivors begins in Parbat

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has started providing the third (final) tranche of grant money to the survivors of 2015 earthquake. So far only 16 households have received the final installment of the grant, said the NRA district project implementation unit. A total of 1,580 quake survivors have got the second tranche in the district. According to the available data, 437 households are yet to receive the first installment. Out of the total 5,269 houses damaged completely, 1,580 have been reconstructed so far. Over Rs 241 million and Rs 237 million have been released under the first and second installments. Likewise, Rs 1.6 million has been released under the final tranche. "We have issued a notice asking those not beginning the reconstruction of their damaged houses to return the grant they have received. Otherwise we will use authority to recover the grant," warned the unit chief Jagdhish Sharma.
