Chief of Karnali Province Durga Keshar Khanal has stated that corruption could be curbed through collective effort between political leadership and bureaucracy.
At an event organized on the occasion 28th anniversary of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in Birendranagar, Surkhet Monday, Khanal pointed out the need for a strong willpower in bureaucracy to weed out corruption in all forms and levels.
He was of the view that embezzlement of fund and slackening of work kind of wrongdoings could be curbed through strong willpower of people's representatives and bureaucratic forces.
Also speaking on the occasion, Karnali Province's Chief Secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya argued that there was no alternative to being honest people's representatives and government employees to make Karnali Province corruption-free.
District Coordination Committee Surkhet Coordinator Chabilal Sigdel pointed out the need for moral education in school to build a corruption-free society.
On the occasion, a drama named 'Khaldo' (Ditch) was staged to raise awareness on elimination of corruption.
