The Nepalis residing in various places in Japan have contributed more than Rs 3.5 million in cash for a school in Baglung district.
The amount Rs 3,057,000 was collected through fundraising campaign launched among the alumni as well as well-wishers for the Janajagriti Secondary School at Kandebash in Galkot municipality-8 in the district, according to alumnus as well as journalist Meghraj Sapkota.
The amount would be utilized by the school to undertake various academic and social initiatives on the occasion of its diamond jubilee that is due in three months.
Journalist Sapkota, who coordinated the fundraising campaign, shared that around a dozen of people contributed to this cause.
One of the teachers in the School Somlal Sapkota said that the fundraising campaign was being carried out in various places in Japan in view of the diamond jubilee celebration.
