The people possessing licensed firearms in Kavrepalanchowk district have started to submit their arms to the District Administration Office (DAO), Kavrepalanchowk.
The Administration Office had recently appealed to all license-holders to submit their arms for safekeeping to the DAO in view of House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.
A total of nine license-holders have submitted their arms, both big and small, to the DAO so far, according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Dhulikhel, Mahendra Marasini.
Those arms were kept by the former officials of Nepal Army. Of the 19 arms recorded at the DAO, Kavrepalanchok, 10 are possessed by various banks.
Chief District Officer, Shiva Prasad Simkhada, asked those possessing arms without license or registration at the DAO to submit their arms on time.
