A technicians' team deputed by the Chitwan National Park (CNP), Chitwan for the rescue of rare one-horned rhino swept away in a flooding around four months ago, has been sent to India for the same.
The rhino was spotted in an Indian place some days ago.
The 20 membered team comprising veterinaries and technicians from the CNP and the National Trust for Nature Conservation, Chitwan chapter will take stock of the spotted rhino, and take further steps for the rescue.
Four tamed elephants have also been sent for the rescue, said CNP assistant conservation officer and eastern region chief Abhinay Pathak, adding that the team would coordinate with officials of Valmiki Tiger Reserve to do needful to bring the animal back to the park.
It may be noted that eight rhinos swept away from the CNP to Indian places in the flooding on July 23 were rescued later.
