Although works to trim the hillside along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section are to be continued from Sunday, it would start only from Monday due to the pressure of traffic.
The traffic was halted along the road section from 10 am to 9:30 pm on Saturday to break a big rock posing risk at Setidobhan along the road section, around 30 cubic meters of the rock is still remaining.
Engineer of the road project, Shiva Khanal, said that it has been difficult to trim the hillside today due to a high number of vehicles along the road section. He said that the work to trim the hillside would be initiated only after resuming the two-way traffic by breaking the rock.
The hillside would be trimmed from tomorrow by halting traffic for some time. The works to trim the hillside was stopped for the past two months due to rainy season and festival.
Khanal said that they have set a plan to resume two-way traffic along the road section but now only one-way traffic is available from Saturday evening.
Project Chief Chandra Narayan Yadav said that an understanding has been reached to trim the hillside by halting traffic from 7:00 am-8:30 am, 11:00 am-12 noon, 1:00 pm -2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm- 4:00 pm.
