3 seriously injured in Mahottari car hit

Three people including two women were injured seriously after being struck by a Maruti car on Thursday evening at Matihani of Mahottari district.

The injured have been identified as Hasina Khatun, 32, of Matihani-4, Babul Sah, 20, of Dhirapur- 6 and Khairuna Khatun, 40, of Tulsiyahi Jabdi area of the district, District Police Office, Mahottai said.

The Maruti car bearing an Indian registration number plate-BSR 1 BL 0476-struck the three who were returning to Nepal after purchasing clothes across the border in India. They have sustained serious injuries, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deepak Pokharel.

The two women have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan while Sah was rushed to a SSB Camp at Madhawapur of India for treatment. Police arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle. RSS
