Natural gas gushing out of deep boring ignites fire in Sirutar (With Video)
Narayan Maharjan, Bhaktapur, April 18 - The administration struggled to contain the fire that was ignited while doing deep boring for a drinking water tank in Sirutar of Suryavinayak Municiplaity 1 Tuesday morning. Fire engines form Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and Lalitpur were not been able to douse the fire that started at around 10:30 in the morning. A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Polcie Force (APF), and the locals tried to douse the fire.

Setopati , Kathmandu, April 17 - The government that announced public holidays on Monday and Friday to mark Bidhya Devi Bhandari's state visit to India and her return home respectively has canceled Friday's holiday amid protests. "Public holiday on Friday as per declared earlier has been canceled amid strong protests," according to a source at Ministry of Home Affairs.

No interim order on IGP appointment
Setopati, Kathmandu, April 12 - The Supreme Court (SC) hearing the writ petition filed by DIG Nava Raj Silwal against appointment of Prakash Aryal as the IGP of Nepal Police has refused to issue an Interim Order as demanded by the petitioner. The single bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada on Wednesday, however, has asked the government to give reasons about why Aryal was appointed.

At least 67 materials being procured for local poll: EC
Rohit Khatiwada , Kathmandu, April 12 - The Election Commission, which is gearing up for holding the local election on May 14, is currently working on managing 67 types of election-related materials. “The commission had prepared the list of necessary materials for conducting polls with the announcement of election date. Of the 67 types of the materials required for election, most of materials have been arranged,” Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav told Setopati.
'India nabbed missing Pak colonel in revenge'
Setoapti, Kathmandu, April 12 - The retired Pakistan Army Colonel Muhammad Habib Zahir, who has gone missing from Lumbini near Nepal’s border with India since April 6, may have been nabbed by India, The Indian Express reported Wednesday quoting Indian intelligence sources. New constitution amendment bill registered in parliament
Sanjib Bagale, Kathmandu, April 11 - The government has registered a new constitution amendment bill in the parliament on Tuesday after withdrawing the amendment bill that was under consideration in the parliament. Section Officer at the Law Ministry Rajendra Prasad Adhikari registered the new bill later on the day.
Govt takes back previous amendment bill
Sanjib Bagale, Kathmandu, April 11 - The government on Tuesday has withdrawn the amendment bill currently under consideration in the parliament to pave the way for registration of a new amendment bill. The bill was registered in the parliament on November 29 amidst protest by the main opposition CPN-UML. It was tabled in the parliament on January 8 with UML staying silent. The party has again remained silent about withdrawal of the amendment bill on Tuesday.
Water grows money for Yo Maya
Setopati , Syangja, April 11 - Just like Yo Maya, this problem of no easy access to water was being faced by women and other people of her village Eladi and nearby villages—Dipka and Thuladi of Syangja. Challenges for reconstruction
