Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government was fully committed to protecting the rights of consumers.
Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of the World Consumer’s Rights Day Thursday, PM Oli said new laws were being made to empower the consumers. “Consumers awareness program should be launched, so that the consumers would be able to protect their rights and duties. The collaborative role of government bodies, organizations working actively in this sector, and the media was imperative for the protection of consumers’ rights,” PM Oli underlined in the message.
He further reminded that the government was working for law reforms being based on the directive of the UN on consumers’ rights.
According to him, every consumer has the rights to get quality goods and service. The fundamental right in the constitution has provided the compensation to the people bearing loss or damage with substandard goods.
