Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa said the ministry will investigate the killing of two alleged abductors. Two alleged abductors Ajay Tamang, 23, of Karthali Sindhupalchowk, and Gopal Tamang, 22, of Samari Nuwakot were killed in the police operation on August 6.
Speaking during a meeting of the State Affairs Committee of the parliament on Thursday, Minister Thapa assured probe into the killing of abductors. “The official position of the government about the killing has not yet been announced. We will launch a probe to form our position,” Home Minister Thapa said.
Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Devendra Raj Kandel demanded the police officers concerned including the IGP be summoned by the committee for interrogation about the killing of alleged abductors.
The police administration has been widely criticized for killing the alleged abductors in order to conceal its failure to save the abducted 11-year-old boy Nishan Khadka.
