The Supreme Court (SC) has not issued an interim order to stay removal of Kamini Rajbhandari from the post of managing director (MD) of Nepal Telecom.
A single bench of Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana hearing the petition filed by Rajbhandari on Sunday has refused to issue an interim order as sought by her.
Rajbhandari, who was appointed MD in September 2016, was dismissed by the Cabinet on August 14. Rajbhandari had moved the Apex Court on Friday claiming that the government fired her with an ill intention.
The KP Sharma Oli Cabinet had twice sought explanation from her. It fired her stating that she could not provide satisfactory response.
The government had first sought explanation stating that she could not put up expected performance in expansion of telecom service and business promotion.
Minister for Information and Communication Gokul Baskota claimed she could not perform even after being given chance to work after furnishing unsatisfactory explanation in the first instance.
The government has cited the fall in income of NT in comparison to the preceding year, and accused her of failure in expansion of construction of simple towers and attempt of irregularities in expansion of 4G service. Baskota argued that the government took the decision to remove her concluding that NT cannot move forward under her working style.
