Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that Pokhara would be developed as the educational hub of international-standard.
Speaking at a program organized by District Coordination Committee, Kaski, here Tuesday in honor of four schools of Kaski awarded by the government on the occasion of Constitution Day, Chief Minister Gurung said Pokhara is the place having all types of possibilities.
Saying educational institutions would be established in Pokhara to provide timely quality education, he said a target has been set to develop Pokhara as the top fifth educational place of South Asia within coming 20 years.
The Chief Minister pointed out that quality in education was possible only from collective efforts. Stressing that Pokhara would be made as the center of attraction of domestic and foreign students by establishing Gandaki Province University, he added such institution should be run from academic sector not from political one.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Gurung honored Shitaladevi Secondary School toward Community, Motherland Secondary School toward private, Prithvi Narayan Campus toward constituent campus of the Tribhuvan University and Amar Singh Secondary School toward +2.
