The mortal remains of Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola is to be kept at the party central office Sanepa from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm for final tribute Sunday.
The NC former central leader and former foreign minister Bastola was bed-ridden for six years following brain hemorrhage. He is survived by his spouse and two daughters.
He had been taken to the Bansbari Neuro Hospital Saturday after his condition deteriorated. After the hospital declared him clinically dead, the family took him to home on Saturday itself.
Later he breathed his last at 9:20 pm. As stated by party office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel in a press note today, the last rites of Bastola are to be performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat Sunday.
Bastola had served as the Nepal’s ambassador to India as well.
Meanwhile, the party has put off Sunday’s program of submitting a memorandum to the central and province governments through the all District Administration Offices regarding the issues of price hike and taxation.
