Industry Minister Yadav visits closed Birgunj Sugar Mill

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Prasad Yadav Tuesday visited the Birgunj Sugar Factory and took stock of it. The factory has remained closed for the past one and half decades. On the occasion, he expressed his concern over lack of proper protection of machinery and directed people concerned towards that end. Presently, temporary bench of the High Court, Janakpur is operational on the factory premises. As the minister said, his team arrived here to inspect the land proposed for building the court’s infrastructure. The plot number 1131 owned by the factory has been proposed to utilize for the construction of court infrastructures. The minister said further discussions would be held about it later to determine whether it was suitable to implement the proposal. The minister’s team comprised Supreme Court judge Hari Krishna Karki and High Court Janakpur’s temporary bench Birgunj chief judge Dilliraj Acharya, among others.
