Bibkesheel cadres who had gone to hoist national flag in govt land in Baluwatar arrested


Cadres of Bibeksheel Nepali Party, who had gone to place national flags on the government land in Baluwatar that has been transferred to individuals, have been arrested Wednesday.
Seventeen persons of the party including coordinator Ujjwal Thapa have been arrested by the police. They have been arrested for trying to enter the prohibited zone, according to Metropolitan Police Circle Kamalpokhari. They are kept at the Kamalpokhari Circle after arrest.
Land mafia in connivance with staffers at the land revenue office has transferred ownership of 113 ropanis of land in Baluwatar to different individuals, a commission formed by the government following complaints that government land at Baluwatar has been transferred to some individuals has concluded.
CPN General Secretary Bishnu Paudel has been dragged into the controversy as eight annas out of the 113 ropanis has been transferred in the name of his son Navin.
