CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said all works related to unification will be completed by Tuesday evening.
Administering oath of office to the Lalitpur district committee of the party on Tuesday, Dahal said all the works will be completed by the evening as per the agreement with another chairman KP Sharma Oli to end the works by the end of Ashadh (that ends today).
Division of responsibilities, and formation of elderly communist forum, advisory council, special committee and departments will be completed by the evening. "We will end unification by the evening. I will attend party meeting immediately after this program. The main things have been decided and only some blanks remains to be filled," he elaborated.
He revealed that the central committee meeting will also be called soon. He said the unification will be endorsed by the nine-strong secretariat and then the central committee. "We had pledged to complete unification works within three months. There has definitely been a delay but the works have finally been completed," he said.
The two chairmen have decided to complete unification and reshuffle Cabinet simultaneously.
"Secretariat meeting will be called only after the two chairmen agree on the issues of division of responsibilities and Cabinet reshuffle," a secretariat member told Setopati.
A Cabinet source confirmed that Prime Minister Oli during the review meeting on Thursday and Friday has already provided clear hints about Cabinet reshuffle. "The term of some friends in the past year was not that pleasant. The friends who will come now may formulate the upcoming plans of ministries," a source quoted PM Oli as saying during the meeting.
