Socialist Party Nepal has started efforts for withdrawal of resignation of its House of Representatives (HoR) member Dr Surya Narayan Yadav.
Pediatrician Yadav had submitted resignation to Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara citing deteriorating health and need for rest. Yadav, who suffers from diabetes, kidney problems and hypertension, has mentioned in the resignation letter that he passes out from time to time.
Yadav, who was a popular pediatrician in Saptari, Dhanusha, Mahottari and other districts in tarai, had won general election from Saptari-1 on ticket of the then Federal Socialist Forum Nepal.
Speaker Mahara has started consultation with chief whip of Socialist Party Uma Shankar Argariya after receiving resignation of Yadav, according to press advisor to Speaker Mahara Dilli Malla.
Argariya said the party is trying for withdrawal of Yadav's resignation. "He directly submitted resignation to the speaker before consultation within the party. We will make arrangements for him to ensure he gets rest and also becomes active in the House," he added.
He stated that Yadav has become inaccessible after submitting resignation and the party is talking with the family for withdrawal of the resignation.
