CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have met for around 30 minutes Sunday morning to discuss the last secretariat meeting, grievances of Nepal and how to address them.
Dahal and another chairman KP Sharma Oli seemed positive to proposal of Jhala Nath Khanal in the Friday meeting to make Khanal the third ranked leader in the party. The issue was postponed to another secretariat meeting following dispute about the proposal. The secretariat meeting scheduled for Sunday is likely to discuss the issue.
A party source confided with Setopati that Dahal and Nepal discussed the issue and the problem seen in formation of the politburo. "Nepal is also unhappy with the attitude of chairman duo to appease individuals by creating a post of vice-chairman that is not even in the party statute while neglecting the issue of forming politburo that is included in the statute," a leader close to Nepal told Setopati.
The party statute has provision of two chairmen, two senior leaders, one general secretary and a spokesperson. But the secretariat meeting on Friday appointed Bam Dev Gautam as the vice-chairman.
The secretariat meeting scheduled for later Sunday is also set to discuss concluding the remaining works of party unification.
The party has yet to finalize chief and deputy chief of 22 sister organizations, special committee, central discipline commission, audit commission, election commission, national council, central advisory council, senior communist forum and other organizations.
